Officers General Duty BranchThis is known as an operational branch of Indian Coast Guard, Which exercises the duties of the Command of ships at sea . As a General Duty Branch Officer, the candidate must have the ability to operate weapons, operate sensors, and operate all the equipment under his command. The responsibility of the safety of your ship, men and material and maneuvering of the ship in sea while in war or peace lies upon this branch |
Pilot BranchFor surveillance of exclusive economic zones from shore air stations, fixed wing aircrafts are in operations by Indian Coast Guard. Helicopters are also used in Coast Guard offshore petrol vessels for local surveillance and search and rescue operations at sea. This is a challenging task and so requires your skills in Coast Guard. Thus we have the chance to work both at shore air stations along the Indian coast as well as at sea as an officer of the Pilot Branch. |
Technical BranchShips and air crafts these days are fully equipped with modern technology. your responsibility in technical branch is to keep all these machines/equipments well serviced.You will also find job opportunities in Coast Guard repair organizations. In technical branch you have an opportunity to get yourself exposed to work in a wide spectrum of modern engineering to showcase your technical abilities, which will enhance your capabilities to a Post Graduate level in modern engineering. |
Women in Coast GuardThe selection of women in Coast Guard is similar to the male candidates. Recruitment of women in Coast Guard is done as officers General Duty Pilot/ Navigator and General Duty CPL Holder in short service entry branches. Their appointment is only for non-sea going operations. In Coast Guard women have the option to work till their retirement age except for CPL Holders and short service appointments. |
The pay is inclusive of DA, maintenance of allowance and transport allowance In addition other allowances will be admissible based on nature of duty/place of posting such as flying allowance, sea duty and Island special duty allowance
